Nov 13, 2025Alkyl Amines Chemicals Limited reported a challenging first half with flat topline performance despite marginal volume growth. Executive Director Kirat Patel attributed the subdued performance to US government actions impacting the company in four ways: direct US exports affected, customer demand reduced due to their US export challenges, increased Chinese competition in domestic markets, and sanctions on some Indian distributors in their supply chain. The methylamines segment was more impacted than ethylamines, with overall market facing capacity overhang as fourth player Aarti Drugs commissioned its plant. The company expects mechanical completion of its new Rs. 120 crore project in Kurkumbh by February-March 2026, targeting dyes, pigments and electronics markets. Anti-dumping duties on acetonitrile implemented in June are expected to show benefits from Q4 onwards, though Chinese competitors remain aggressive on pricing. Management anticipates the current subdued demand conditions may continue due to ongoing geopolitical uncertainties.

Alkyl Amines Chemicals (AACL) is a global manufacturer and supplier of amines, amine derivatives, and specialty chemicals. The company operates three manufacturing sites in India: two in Maharashtra (Patalganga and Kurkumbh) and one in Gujarat (Dahej). AACL also has a R&D Centre in Pune and a Solar Plant in Bhoom, Maharashtra. Their products are used in various industries including pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, water treatment, foundry chemicals, and rubber chemicals. The company produces a range of chemicals such as aliphatic amines, methylamines, ethylamines, and specialty products like acetonitrile. AACL has expanded its production capacity over the years, including the recent commissioning of a new Acetonitrile Plant at Dahej and a 3 MW Solar Plant in Western Maharashtra.
