Huhtamaki Q1 Net Profit Drops 35% to 249M Rupees Despite EBITDA Growth1 day ago
Huhtamaki reported Q1 net profit of 249 million rupees, down from 385 million rupees in the same period last year. Revenue declined to 6.1 billion rupees from 6.4 billion rupees year-over-year. The company recorded an exceptional item of 295 million rupees during the quarter. Profit before tax increased to 331 million rupees from 213 million rupees. EBITDA grew to 426 million rupees from 320 million rupees, with EBITDA margin improving to 6.96% from 5% in the previous year.
Huhtamaki India Limited announced its second quarter results for the period ended June 30, 2025. The company reported net sales of Rs. 5,919 million, representing a 4.7% decrease compared to the same period last year. However, EBIT before exceptional items increased significantly by 37.4% to Rs. 362 million. For the half-year period, net sales were Rs. 11,850 million (down 2.4% year-on-year), while EBIT before exceptional items grew 10.7% to Rs. 733 million. The company's EBIT margin improved to 6.1% in Q2 2025 compared to 4.2% in Q2 2024. Managing Director Dhananjay Salunkhe attributed the performance to slightly lower volumes but noted steady operational improvements and favorable sales mix. The company reported a net profit of Rs. 249.4 million for the quarter and Rs. 510.9 million for the half-year. Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs. 3.30.
