Garden Reach Shipbuilders Partners with Centum Electronics for Naval Navigation Systems Development

10 days agoGarden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd has signed an agreement with Centum Electronics for collaborative research and development of advanced naval navigation systems. The partnership aims to improve manufacturing facilities and upgrade current systems.
The Indian Navy has launched an anti-submarine warfare ship named 'Androth' in Visakhapatnam. The ship is associated with GRSE (Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers).
Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) shares surged 6% to Rs 2,760 after the company signed five memorandums of understanding with major industry players including Deendayal Port Authority, Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port Authority, Indian Port Rail & Ropeway Corporation, Shipping Corporation of India, and Modest Infrastructure. The MoUs establish frameworks for collaboration on green vessel construction, ship repair, port infrastructure development, multimodal logistics, and ropeway connectivity, supporting India's Maritime Amrit Kaal vision to become a top-five global shipbuilding nation by 2047. GRSE reported quarterly results showing profit after tax of Rs 120.17 crore, up 37.8% year-over-year from Rs 87.19 crore, while revenue from operations increased 29.7% to Rs 1,309.87 crore. However, net profit declined 51% sequentially from Rs 244.25 crore. The stock has gained 65% year-to-date and was trading 4% higher at Rs 2,707.

About Garden Reach Shipbuilders
Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited is an Indian company primarily engaged in shipbuilding for the Indian Navy and Coast Guard. Incorporated in 1934 and acquired by the Government of India in 1960, it has three shipbuilding facilities in Kolkata. The company builds various types of vessels including warships, patrol vessels, and commercial ships. It also manufactures portable steel bridges, deck machinery, marine pumps, and assembles marine engines. GRSE has delivered over 750 vessels and has been credited with several firsts in the Indian shipbuilding industry. The company became a public limited company in 2017 and was listed on the stock exchange in 2018, with the government retaining a 74.5% stake. GRSE has expanded its capabilities to include advanced warship construction and has contracts for building survey vessels and anti-submarine warfare craft.
