Fermenta Biotech Re-appoints Two Executive Directors for Three-Year Terms10 days ago
Fermenta Biotech Limited has re-appointed Ms. Anupama Datla Desai and Mr. Satish Varma as Executive Directors for three-year terms effective September 27, 2025, through September 26, 2028. The re-appointments were approved by members at their August 12, 2025 meeting. Ms. Desai brings around two decades of industry experience in quality control, safety policy implementation, new technology platforms, and business development. She is the daughter of Non-Executive Director Ms. Rajeshwari Datla and sister of Executive-Vice Chairman Mr. Krishna Datla. Mr. Varma has over three decades of industry experience with extensive operational, management and legal expertise. He led the company's Vitamin D3 business growth since 1998 and was instrumental in the Solvay demerger in 2000 and Crocin brand sale in 1996.
Fermenta Biotech Limited has been officially certified as a Great Place to Work for 2025-2026. The certification is based on confidential employee feedback regarding workplace culture, engagement, and trust. Sarah Lewis-Kulin from Great Place to Work noted that this recognition demonstrates Fermenta's dedication to employee experience and positions it among top employers. Managing Director Prashant Nagre emphasized that the company's people are central to their operations and that this certification reflects organizational trust, respect, and purpose. Fermenta manufactures premium-grade APIs, intermediates, and nutritional premixes for global markets, serving over 400 customers in more than 60 countries through manufacturing facilities in Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, and Andhra Pradesh.
Fermenta Biotech Limited's Board approved a Business Transfer Agreement to sell its environment business to wholly-owned subsidiary Fermenta Environment Solutions Private Limited through a slump sale for Rs 19 crores. The environment division contributed Rs 22.20 crores (5.02%) to total revenue and had a net worth of Rs 15.53 crores (4.09% of total net worth) as of March 31, 2025. The agreement becomes effective from October 1, 2025, with completion expected within 60 days. The transaction aims to enable specialized management, enhanced operational efficiency, and targeted resource allocation. The deal is structured as an arm's length related party transaction between the parent company and its subsidiary, with no impact on shareholding patterns.
