NSE recorded a 105-bagger return despite higher acquisition costs of Rs 12.28 per share, while HDFC Bank achieved an 11-bagger return with shares purchased at Rs 108.29 each. Union Bank of India delivered a 249-bagger return on shares bought at Rs 5.20. NSDL shares debuted at Rs 880 and reached Rs 1,300.30, with the stock climbing each day since listing. NSDL Shares Surge 67% Post-Listing as NSE Plans Own IPO1 day ago
National Securities Depository Ltd (NSDL) shares have risen to ₹1,337 from the issue price of ₹800 within three days of listing on BSE. The stock did not list on NSE as NSE is a promoter of NSDL. SEBI regulations currently prohibit market infrastructure institutions from self-listing to avoid conflicts of interest. The regulatory framework for these institutions has evolved since corporatisation and demutualisation began in 2002-03. The Bimal Jalan committee in 2010 had recommended restrictions including no cross-listing of exchanges, but SEBI rejected key proposals in 2012 and allowed listing with conditions including 51% public ownership. Multi Commodity Exchange was the first to list in March 2012, followed by BSE on NSE in February 2017 and CDSL in June 2017. NSE, which previously opposed cross-listing, now appears to have changed its position and is planning to list its shares on BSE, awaiting SEBI approval for its IPO.

National Securities Depository Ltd (NSDL) shares jumped 15.7% to Rs 1,299, bringing total gains to 62.4% above the IPO price of Rs 800. The stock has risen 47.6% from its listing price of Rs 880 since debuting on August 6. The Rs 4,012 crore IPO was subscribed 41.02 times, with strong institutional participation. NSDL reported 12% revenue growth to Rs 1,535.19 crore and 25% profit increase to Rs 343.12 crore. The company operates as a SEBI-registered Market Infrastructure Institution, managing 3.94 crore active demat accounts through 294 depository participants. Analysts recommend existing investors hold with a long-term view, citing the company's market leadership and steady revenue visibility, while suggesting new investors wait for market corrections before entry.
