HFCL is making significant investments in a new manufacturing facility located in Andhra Pradesh. The company has identified substantial growth opportunities in the defense industry and is positioning itself to capitalize on this potential through this manufacturing investment.
HFCL Limited submitted its monitoring agency report for the quarter ended September 30, 2025, showing progress on fund utilization from its Rs. 352 crore Qualified Institutions Placement. The company raised funds by allotting 5.10 crore equity shares at Rs. 69 per share to qualified institutional buyers. During Q2FY26, HFCL utilized Rs. 15.51 crore for capital expenditure, bringing total capital expenditure utilization to Rs. 32.31 crore out of the allocated Rs. 75 crore. The company has fully utilized funds for research and development (Rs. 85 crore), short-term borrowing repayment (Rs. 74.04 crore), working capital requirements (Rs. 75 crore), and general corporate purposes (Rs. 33.46 crore). Capital expenditure deployment has been slower than planned due to adverse market conditions for optical fiber cables caused by economic and geo-political changes. The Board approved extending the capital expenditure timeline from July 31, 2025, to March 31, 2026. Unutilized proceeds of Rs. 42.69 crore are held in fixed deposits with State Bank of India, with 95% assigned as margin against capital expenditure letters of credit. CARE Ratings Limited serves as the monitoring agency and reported no deviations from stated objectives.
HFCL has secured an export deal worth approximately $32.02 million for optical fiber cables. The delivery is scheduled to be completed by December 2026.
