Novelix Pharmaceuticals Partners with German Research Institution for Astaxanthin Production Technology

Oct 16, 2025Novelix Pharmaceuticals Limited signed a Technology Transfer agreement with GMBU e.V., Germany, for large-scale production of Astaxanthin, a potent antioxidant with nutraceutical and pharmaceutical applications. Under the agreement, GMBU e.V. will transfer proprietary technology and expertise for cultivation and scale-up of Haematococcus pluvialis microalgae at Novelix's laboratories in Hyderabad. Novelix will provide financial and infrastructural support for the technology transfer program and establish a GMP-certified production facility to manufacture Astaxanthin in bulk for markets across Europe, North America, and India. The collaboration aims to bring Astaxanthin to commercial scale for global supply, with the compound recognized for its antioxidant properties and applications in anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, cardiovascular, and dermatological health products.
