Premier Energies targets manufacturing capacity of 10-11 GW for solar cells and modules by FY27, tripling its current capacity. Chief Business Officer Vinay Rustagi stated this expansion will have a proportional impact on the company's revenue. The company plans to diversify into batteries, inverters, and upstream solar manufacturing including ingots and wafers, projecting a three to four-fold revenue increase over the next two years. Government policies including import duties and mandates for domestic solar cells have boosted demand, growing Premier Energies' order book by over Rs 2,000 crore in two months to reach Rs 10,500 crore. The company will execute a Rs 12,500 crore capital expenditure plan over three years to indigenize the entire solar value chain. Rustagi expects India to become self-sufficient in solar cell manufacturing within 12-15 months, with Rs 50,000-60,000 crore of investments flowing into the sector. Premier Energies shares closed 0.4% lower at Rs 1,051.

Sep 01, 2025Premier Energies' one-year shareholder lock-in period ended on September 1, making 185.2 crore shares (41% of outstanding equity) worth ₹18,347 crore eligible for trading. The company debuted on September 3 last year at over 100% premium to its ₹450 IPO price, reaching a high of ₹1,388 per share before correcting. Promoters hold 64.25% stake as of June quarter. Mutual fund ownership increased to 8.34% from 4.22% over 12 months, while foreign institutional ownership rose to 4.41% from 3.08%. Small retail shareholders declined from 4.05 lakh to 3.7 lakh. Management indicated strong order visibility for the second quarter with EBITDA margins expected to remain at current levels. June quarter margins expanded to 30.2% from 21.6% previously. Shares closed at ₹990.7, down 30% from post-listing highs but above IPO price.
Mobile Premier League (MPL) will eliminate approximately 300 of its 500 India employees across marketing, finance, operations, engineering and legal divisions after the government banned online paid games citing financial and addiction risks. The ban has shut down many gaming apps offering paid fantasy cricket, rummy and poker games, shocking an industry backed by venture capital firms that was projected to reach $3.6 billion by 2029. India represented 50% of MPL's revenues, with the company generating roughly $100 million from the market last year. CEO Sai Srinivas stated the company will no longer generate revenue from India in the near future as it shifts focus to free-to-play games and its U.S. market operations. MPL was valued at $2.3 billion in 2021 and is backed by Peak XV Partners. Rival Dream11, valued at $8 billion, has also discontinued its fantasy cricket offering, while gaming company A23 has challenged the ban in court.
