Hindustan Zinc's Board approved establishment of India's first zinc tailings reprocessing plant at Rampura Agucha Mine in Bhilwara district, Rajasthan. The facility will have 10 million tonnes per annum capacity with Rs 3,823 crore investment and 28-month completion timeline. The plant will extract residual metals like zinc and silver from previously processed tailings, converting waste into valuable resources. This project supports the company's plan to double production capacity and aligns with India's projected doubling of zinc demand over the next five to ten years. Earlier this year, the Board also approved Rs 12,000 crore investment to expand refined metal capacity by 250 kilotonnes per annum and upgrade mines and milling infrastructure. The company reported 15% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions intensity compared to 2020 baseline and launched EcoZen, Asia's first low-carbon 'green' zinc produced with renewable energy.
Hindustan Fluorocarbons Limited reported unaudited financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2025, showing a profit of ₹27.93 lakhs from discontinued operations, compared to ₹26.05 lakhs in the same quarter last year. Total income stood at ₹51.98 lakhs versus ₹56.04 lakhs in the previous year quarter. The company's earnings per share for discontinued operations was ₹0.22. The Board approved several key decisions including the Directors' report for FY 2024-25, arrangements for the 42nd Annual General Meeting with member register closure from September 19-25, 2025, and record date fixed as September 18, 2025. HFL appointed M/s. ASKBN & Co, New Delhi as secretarial auditors for five years starting FY 2025-26 at a fee of ₹18,000 for the first two years. The company noted a 'Nil comment' certificate from CAG on accounts for the year ended March 31, 2025. The financial results received an unmodified opinion from statutory auditors M/s AVRSK & Associates.
Hindustan Fluorocarbons Limited has commenced a voluntary delisting process for its equity shares from BSE. The company's parent, Hindustan Organic Chemicals Limited (HOCL), which holds 56.43% stake, is acquiring shares from public shareholders at an exit price of INR 17.76 per share. The delisting offer runs from August 4, 2025 to November 18, 2025, targeting 76,69,100 equity shares representing 39.13% of paid-up capital held by public shareholders. SEBI has granted exemptions allowing the delisting without requiring 90% public shareholder approval. The company ceased operations following a Government of India directive in January 2020 to shut down the plant. Total consideration for the offer amounts to INR 13.62 crore, which has been deposited in an escrow account. The acquirer will continue accepting shares from remaining public shareholders for up to one year post-delisting at the same price.
