Hindustan Fluorocarbons Reports Rs 24.93 Lakh Profit in Q2 Results

Hindustan Zinc Board Approves Rs 3,823 Crore Tailings Reprocessing Plant

Hindustan Zinc's Board approved establishment of India's first zinc tailings reprocessing plant at Rampura Agucha Mine in Bhilwara district, Rajasthan. The facility will have 10 million tonnes per annum capacity with Rs 3,823 crore investment and 28-month completion timeline. The plant will extract residual metals like zinc and silver from previously processed tailings, converting waste into valuable resources. This project supports the company's plan to double production capacity and aligns with India's projected doubling of zinc demand over the next five to ten years. Earlier this year, the Board also approved Rs 12,000 crore investment to expand refined metal capacity by 250 kilotonnes per annum and upgrade mines and milling infrastructure. The company reported 15% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions intensity compared to 2020 baseline and launched EcoZen, Asia's first low-carbon 'green' zinc produced with renewable energy.
