Ola Electric Mobility Ltd held preliminary discussions with lenders about raising approximately 10 billion rupees ($116 million) through high-yield debt financing, primarily for working capital needs. The potential borrowing could have a 36-month tenor with interest rates between 17.5% and 20%, which lenders would treat as special situation financing. The company's shares have declined about 50% this year amid challenges including scooter fire incidents and declining market share following its IPO. Founder Bhavish Aggarwal previously paid about 200 million rupees in cash to increase collateral for share-backed borrowings. An Ola Electric spokesperson described working capital raising as routine business practice and declined further comment on the discussions.
Ola Electric Mobility Limited's Board of Directors approved a proposed variation in the utilization of IPO proceeds and extension of time limit for utilization, subject to shareholder approval. The board also approved the appointment of M/s. BMP & Co. LLP as Secretarial Auditors for five consecutive years from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2030, pending shareholder approval at the 8th AGM. BMP & Co. LLP is a practicing company secretaries firm established in 2017 with offices in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi, specializing in corporate secretarial services, SEBI compliances, and IPO-related work. The board meeting was held on July 25, 2025, and the company will issue a detailed notice for shareholder approval in due course.
